The webquest provided focuses on Rainforests, where all student work in pairs and small groups of 3 to four, to complete all six activities. The overall task for students is to investigate, discover, and develop an understanding about Rainforests, and how they impact people in Australia and around the world.
The task on the six activities include:
1. Use the KWL (H) chart to brainstorm what they know about Rainforests and what particular areas they might want to investigate further.
2. Use a variety of resources to research different componets of a Rainforest, and present their understandings of what they discovered.
3. Explore an animal in the rainforest, where each pair will discuss, and present ‘A day in the life of...’’ with their chosen animal. They will use the resources provided to help with the task.
4. Compare and contrast the similarities and differences of one Australian and one Rainforest around the world. Students will present their findings of their understandings.
5. Research how rainforests disappear around the world, and present their findings of what they understand.
6. Use the resources provided to argue the reason for saving the rainforest in a persuasive text format. Each group presents their findings of what they understand.
